3 Amazing IPhone And IPad Applications For Guitar Players
Those who think the iPad is a waste of money obviously is looking at it as a computer rather then a device to connect you to great apps. The fact is these innovations in technology are more facilators for people to connect with some of the great applications that are becoming available every day.
This article will share with you the top 3 applications for guitar players no matter what your skill level.
Amplitube and iRig
This is an amazing app and device that’s become available in the past few months. In a nutshell this app replaces the need for a modelling amp or device like the Line 6 Pod by providing a variety of amps, stomp boxes and cabinets you can play through on your device.
Using the optional iRig device you can connect your guitar and a set of head phones or output cable to your device and play your guitar through speakers, record it on a laptop or just listen through headphones.
GuitarLab
This is a great app for beginners who are learning to play guitar. You can get lessons, chord diagrams and scale charts all from within this one app. I don’t think this application will become a full on teaching tool it is great for supplemental learning when you’re away or on the go.
Guitarist’s Reference
Another great reference and learning tool this one is good for players of all skill levels. Ever find yourself trying to remember the 3rd pattern on the neck of the pentatonic scale or what a particular patten looks like? Possibly you just can’t remember what a C7th chord looks like and you need to learn it right now. Guitarist’s Reference is the right tool for the job. It places all the knowledge you could ever need about chords, scales, tunings, triads and more right at your finger tips. Beginner or intermediate player you should have this on your phone or iPad.
While these are essential apps I feel for most guitar players there are tons more available which I haven’t mentioned here. While I don’t believe these mobile devices will become a viable way to learn to play guitar, they are quickly replacing chord charts and books.
