The Importance Of Bicycle Cases
If you are into bike racing and marathons, like being part of a professional team, most probably, you may need a bicycle case for your bike’s protection. Hard surfaces might scratch the paint while you are traveling.
Choosing the right case is one of the most important things a biker or cyclist must perform. There are things that must be taken into account. It must be spacious, light, durable, and serve all the bikes’ essential needs for protection.
There are two types of bicycle case: the hard case and the soft padded case. They both provide the same protection for your bike. The hard case is normally used when traveling by plane or when sending it out for a package. It gives excellent protection for your bicycle. It has compartments for the bike’s body, tires, handle bars and gear. Most probably, when you are using a case, your bike is being dismantled. This is why it has divisions to avoid scratching each part’s surfaces, the soft case is normally for traveling with cars or you might just want to keep it safe, the soft padded case has frames on its side protecting the bike from the edge to edges, there are padded cushion inside and also have divisions for your dismantled bike.
You can use both cases since it serves as the same purpose of protecting your bike, the difference with these two cases is their weight. The hard case is made from hard solid materials that’s why it is heavier compared to soft case, while soft case is build from light tough material.
If you want to travel with 2 or more bike, well the hard case is more superior than the soft case, some hard case are build with many compartment accommodating 2 to 3 dismantled bikes, it has hard solid divisions to avoid scratches from each other’s body in case of humps in the road, it has a hard shell and it also have cushions inside. The good about the hard case is you don’t have to dismantle all the parts of the bike like the seat, chains and pedals, you can easily assemble you bike as soon as you take them out of the case.
Soft bicycle case is also good for traveling since it has deep pads for protection, there are two separated bags for the tires included to avoid scratches, it is build with light material so you can hand carry you’re bicycle in a bag, but it can only accommodate on bicycle at a time. But most athletes and Olympians choose to use this soft deeply padded soft case for bikes rather than the hard case; it is more convenient for them.
There are also difference on prices by this two, hard case are more expensive reaching $300-$500 but it is worth the buy if you want superior protection for your bicycle.The deeply padded soft case has price between $100-$300 it is also worth the buy and also gives superior protection for your bikes. If you really want to get a bicycle case, you can use a little logic and bargain with the seller for you to grab a good discount.
